Really nice and simple. I didn't use the cream for healthiness, but the texture of the mushrooms makes it creamy anyway. Comfort-soup. Would be nice with croutons or crusty bread.

As a weight watcher this is fab. Don't do garlic, added chives and a little olive oil, was going to use single low fat cream but after a taste did not need it. Halved the amount = about 3 pro points. |

Absolutely great tasting and amazingly simple.
I added in thyme and 2 potatoes, cut into small chunky pieces, bring to
boil and until cook in the broth.
Then add them together into the mushroom, bring to boil and blend
everything.
Soup becomes very tasty, thick and absolutely delicious. |

Thanks. I bought a whole load of half price steak
mushrooms from LIDL 6 months ago and chopped and froze them. I've just
put them into this recipe. I haven't put the cream in as I will add it
tomorrow when it is reheated for serving and it is already delicious. I
used one Kallo veg stock cube instead of two as that's all I had left
and it's perfect. Similar to Covent Garden soup but better IMHO. |

EXCELLENT, followed the recipe to the letter, I panicked
a bit when it came to adding the mushrooms to the onions and garlic as
there didn't seem to be enough liquid in the saucepan but they soon
reduced down and everything was fine.
Will definitely be making this again, also the celery soup which I made
yesterday, equally as good (Jamie Oliver move over). |

mushrooms as I am quite new to cooking. Was amazed by the result! I just
re-did it now with 500g mushrooms and its delicious. However I think

footie. Easy peasy and loved it - but I added too much
commercial stock so watch it you heavy-handers! I'm gonna try

my nightmares and I've achieved it! I followed this mushroom
soup recipe
exactly and it's been a success!! Thank you so much, it works
out about £2-3 and serves a healthy 6 people, my Student

Best mushroom soup that I've tried. I vary
the types mushrooms to make it taste even better and you can use
potato flour as a thickener if you want to serve it to those who
are wheat and gluten intolerant.

Loved this recipe and I have made it a few times now and today

above just that it tastes great and is good to take to work in a

I am surprised by the conversions from metric to imperial. Ilb
(imperial is only 454gms metric. 3 oz is 84 gms - o.k not a big difference here, I
litre is 1.75 pints not two and 1/2 cup is an American measurement not metric. Four
discrepancies is such an easy recipe with not many ingredients looks a little
careless.
Answer: Rather than give exact measurements (e.g. 84g) as you
suggest, we have rounded them. And if you notice, we have rounded all the key
ingredients in the same direction. The effect is that you will get a slightly larger
portion size of the metric compared to the imperial but the mixture itself will be
the same.

Just thought I'd try this on a whim. Wow! Wish I'd tried it
years ago! Brilliant! The only different thing I did was 3/4 chicken stock and
topped it up with full milk to one litre. I also found it didn't require any salt at
the end, it was perfect. I most definitely be making
this mushroom soup again.

An absolutely delicious and simple recipe. Never fails to
please, either for a simple lunch or a posh dinner party. I always add some very
thin slices of mushroom just before serving. Put the soup dishes straight into soapy
water after eating to stop the dregs from drying on as they are a devil to get off
even in a dishwasher.

Great mushroom soup recipe! A nice variation is to substitute a couple of jars of
