Catalan Restaurant in Warwick

In the centre of Warwick on Jury Street, the Catalan is not only a
restaurant, it's a tapas bar as well. Pleasant decor, good food and a
good atmosphere make this an excellent choice for lunch or diner. |

At lunchtime (12 to 3 Monday to Friday, 12 to 6 on Friday and closed
on Sunday) they serve a good range of tapas (around 25 dishes) with all your
favourites plus a few more unusual dishes. They also offer a decidedly Spanish
two course meal at lunch for £10.75. This is also available in the evenings
Monday to Thursday.
In the evening, there is a good menu with main dishes being priced
anywhere between £10 and £19.
The Catalan restaurant and tapas bar is fully licensed and serves both snacks (lunchtime and early
evening) and main meals.
THE SEATING AREA

The indoor seating are is pleasantly laid out with a Spanish
theme to it. There are about ten tables indoors with further
seating outdoors for warm sunny days. The tables and chairs
are comfortable if a bit basic, the atmosphere is good. |
THE FOOD
We restricted ourselves to a lunch of five different tapas although
the two course set lunch was not that much more expensive. The food was
high quality, well presented and very tasty. If you are having a tapas
meal then include the Championes al Ajillo (mushrooms in a
garlic, butter and Fino Sherry sauce, absolutely delicious.
All meals are served with complimentary bread and olive oil, balsamic
vinegar dip - the simple things in life are the best! You will also be
served a bottle of chilled tap water at no cost. A nice touch.

SERVICE
At lunch, when quick service is often important, the service is quick
and efficient. A five or ten minute wait and you are served with freshly
prepared food
PRICES
The tapas were between £2.50 to £4 a portion which is reasonable given
the quality of the food and the very central location. The prices of the
main meals is mentioned above.
Other Attractions
On some nights there is live music, Spanish style of course. Check out

SUMMARY
Excellent as a tapas bar and for more formal meals. Good food, good
surroundings and atmosphere with quick and pleasant service. We
recommend you try the Catalan.
