BREVILLE BR8L BREAD MAKER

Picture of Breville BR8L Bread Maker A  high capacity for the larger family and it's ability to make probably the best French bread make the Breville BR8L bread maker a great choice. It's at the top of the cost range but it's worth it for the extra features.

BREAD MAKER
The Breville BR8L Bread Maker produces good quality loaves of bread and excels itself at French bread - really light and fluffy inside. Forget the bread pasta though, ours most definitely went wrong. With a large loaf capacity of 2.75 lbs this a good bread maker for the large family. In common with some other bread machines you need to be accurate with the measurements - get them wrong and this is not a tolerant machine!

The manufacturers, Breville, give the following rather long winded spec:

RELIABILITY
A couple of isolated reliability problems have come to our attention especially with the kneading mechanism.

OUR RATING

The Breville BR8L bread maker is great for the large family, it also comes with a timer and a great 'keep warm' feature. It's also very easy to use and the recipe memory makes it even easier. Our only concern is that the reliability may not be up to scratch. One final point, the recipe book refers to the addition of a bread improver to some recipes, we were unable to find this in any of the shops - maybe it's used in the USA? ** Update - bread improver can be bought on e-bay at www.stores.ebay.co.uk/homebakingsupplies.
