How To Cook This Recipe
Add 3 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan. Heat to to a medium-high heat.
Add the onions, turn frequently and fry until they are golden brown. This will take 15
minutes. Remove the onions, add 2 tablespoons of oil, add the sliced sausages and fry
for about 8 minutes turning frequently until they are coloured brown.
Preheat the oven to 190°C / 370°F / Gas Mark 5
Put the sausages, fried onions, haricot beans, chopped tomatoes, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper in a
casserole dish and mix gently with a fork.
Place the potato slices over the mixture so that they
cover it all. Put the casserole dish in the pre-heated oven for 55 minutes.
When cooked, remove from the oven, grate the cheese over the top.
Sprinkle a little paprika over the top of the cheese and put
under the grill until the cheese browns for about 4 minutes.
Serve by itself on warmed plates. Any remaining can be covered and refrigerated. Eat the
next evening after microwaving for about four minutes. Supremely delicious.
