APPLE PIE
British apples are second to none in the world and they make great apple pies. With a base and topping of short crust pastry apple pie is the top sweet dish.

BUTTER BEAN, LEEK AND BACON SOUP
A truly tasty soup. The butter beans thicken up the soup and absorb the leek and bacon flavours. In common with many soups, this one freezes very well.

CORNISH PASTY
Local vegetable with British beef in a short crust pastry casing. Originally given to Cornish miners to take to work in their pockets. This is a slice of British history at its most delicious.

CORNISH SCONES
Bring back memories of sunny days in Cornwall. Tea was homemade Cornish scones with jam and clotted cream. Serve with a pot of tea.

STEAK AND MUSHROOM PIE
How do you cook Steak and Mushroom pie without making the pastry soggy? We show you how. Crisp pastry, chunky meat, local vegetables and great gravy are all in this recipe.

WELSH RAREBIT
One of the tastiest snack meals ever cooked. Our recipe is traditional and gives perfect results every time.

LEEK AND POTATO SOUP
A classic British soup which takes 10 minutes to prepare and only 25 minutes to cook. Make more than you need and freeze the rest. A truly simple but delicious soup.

HOMEMADE LEMON CURD
A great British alternative to jam or marmalade. Tangy lemon spread which is great on a crusty roll or as a pancake filler. We made ours in the slow cooker but it does just as well on the hob at a low heat.

CHICKEN SOUP
After you've cooked our fast roast chicken below, don't throw away the bones. Use them to make the stock used in this delicious chicken soup.

FAST ROAST CHICKEN
Sunday roast is the most traditional of all British recipes. With our fast roast recipe it can be prepared and cooked in under an hour and a half.

TOPNOTCH MEATLOAF
Quick and easy to make, ingredients which can be varied to your taste, great for the freezer and cooks well on the barbecue. The ultimate British food.

CHICKEN AND HAM PIE
British ingredients of chicken ham, leeks and onions make this a tasty main meal pie. It freezes very well and doesn't take an age to make.

APPLE CRUMBLE
Apple crumble is easier to make than apple pie but the crumbly top makes it just as delicious. We show you how cook this pie. Eat it hot or cold.

WINTER VEGETABLE SOUP
Made from local vegetables in season this winter vegetable soup is a real treat. Served with a large chunk of bread it makes a great main meal.

CHERRY CRUMBLE
Simplicity is the key to this tasty recipe. Only four ingredients are needed to make a tasty cherry crumble. Give this recipe a try, you won't be disappointed.
